On The Turning Away

On the Turning Away is a song by Pink Floyd, about the social divisiveness of Thatcherism in 1980’s England. It is presented here as both a protest against current social policy towards asylum seekers in Australia, and an affirmation of our shared humanity and capacity for compassionate action and response.

Solo vocal by Marian Lees with Kathy Preece, Barb Scott (whistle), and Bronwyn Calcutt (accordion).
